Your Pilgrimage in Japan

Discover Yourself in Deep Japan

Reading List

I love books. I always have. I grew up as a kid on a university campus as my father was a history professor. I have degrees in English Literature, European History, Education, and a Masters degree in Comparative Literature.

I want to share with you some of the books I have come to love, learn from, and in some cases, still find bewildering.

These are a few of the Japanese topics that I am interesting in exploring and have done reading on. I really recommend that you read whatever you want and find your own connection to Japan.

Mine has been through literature, history, and comparative philosophy and religion. I also love sports, psychology, and art.

There are a number of books here that are also connected to the Shikoku Pilgrimage. By all means, check them out. Some of the best writing comes through first hand experiences and there are a number of notable and remarkable people who have walked this path only a few years before you. Learn from their insights.

Japan’s culture, language, history, and aesthetic sense is so different from my own. I continually marvel at so much in my every day life here in Shikoku. I hope that your own experiences, reading, and interactions with people you meet here will enrich your life, bring you more questions than answers, and keep you continually curious, thoughtful, and receptive.
